This week the focus is on slideshows such as this one made by Ash, a grade 3 student I once taught. In this case Ash wrote the story longhand, drew the illustrations and scanned them before assembling and narrating the story in Photostory. Note the expression and use of transitions to add effect to the story.
For some time the best option for creating slideshows using digital images and an audio track on a PC was Photostory on a PC or iPhoto on the Mac. You may find that these applications are still an option on older computers. Since then many of these options have been incorporated in the more powerful Windows MovieMaker on PC's and iMovie on Mac's. Both of these application are designed more with movie creation in mind but can be used for slideshows). Increasingly though users are moving to online options or to tablets and SmartPhones to create slideshows
Your task this week is to investigate one or more of these slideshow alternatives and then use them to create a presentation that you can embed into your blog. Whilst you may choose to use one of the computer based options I would also encourage you to also try at least one of the online options and/or a tablet or SmartPhone apps.The slideshows you create may be education based or of a more personal nature.
